The Daily Signal is a news outlet associated with and formerly a project of the Heritage Foundation, a right-of-center think tank. The Daily Signal provides journalism, reporting, and commentary. The Daily Signal’s coverage includes politics, policy, culture, and current events. ¹

Activities

The Daily Signal was launched on June 3, 2014 as an expansion of the Heritage Foundation’s Morning Bell email newsletter and The Foundry blog. The Daily Signal provides original reporting and commentary from right-leaning voices, and email newsletters with daily news coverage. Additionally, the Daily Signal produces documentaries, podcasts, reels, and infographics to increase audience understanding and engagement. ¹

The Daily Signal produces two podcasts, The Daily Signal Podcast, which includes interviews with leading conservatives, afternoon news updates, and bonus content exploring issues in greater detail, ² and Problematic Women, a weekly program that provides news of interest to right-leaning women. Problematic Women highlights women who are pro-life, pro-family, and pro-traditional American values and seen as “problematic” because they do not align with the left’s version of feminism. ³

Funding

The Daily Signal offers free subscriptions to its content and is financially supported by the Heritage Foundation. ⁴

Rob Bluey is the president and executive editor of the Daily Signal and the executive editor and executive producer of The Daily Signal Podcast. Bluey formerly worked as vice president of communications at The Heritage Foundation, as a reporter for Cybercast News Service (now called CNSNews), and as a journalism fellow at the Student Press Law Center. ⁵

Virginia Allen is a senior news producer for The Daily Signal and the host of the podcasts Problematic Women and The Daily Signal Podcast. ⁶
