    Background

    The Tamaqua Area Community Partnership claims to focus on community and economic development as well as addressing policy issues of poverty, addiction, and healthcare access.  2  1

    As of 2025, Tamaqua’s listed partners include Blueprint Communities, Elm Street, Pennsylvania’s Main Street Program, Rural LISC, and the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area.  3

    In November 2025, it was announced that that Tamaqua Area Community Partnership would be working with Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry  to develop a “rural dental education center and clinic.”  4

    In January 2026, it was reported that the group was also involved in the construction of a new Tamaqua Police Department headquarters as well as a local community center. The $4.5 million project was largely funded by a 2021 $2 million grant from the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, and a matching grant from the John E. Morgan Foundation.  5
