The Singer Family Charitable Foundation, formerly called the Paul Singer Family Foundation, is a private grantmaking foundation run by American hedge fund manager Paul Singer and his two sons. The Foundation has supported free-market economics, pro-Israel policies, and promoting LGBT interests. 1

Grantmaking

The Singer Family Charitable Foundation has made grants to organizations that advocate free -market economics, pro-Israel policies, and promoting LGBT rights. The Foundation also donated to several policy-based organizations including the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and the Hudson Institute. 2

On October 1, 2010, the Singer Family Charitable Foundation granted $90 million worth of shares of Elliot International Limited to the Paul E. Singer Foundation. 3 Between 2010 and 2024, the foundation has made several grants to organizations such as Outright Vermont, the Birthright Israel Foundation, and the University of Rochester. 4

In 2020 the Singer Family Charitable Foundation granted $2 million to the Gordon and Jenny Singer Foundation, the charitable foundation of Paul Singer’s son. 5

Funding

In tax years 2007 and 2009, the Singer Family Charitable Foundation received a combined $73 million in shares of Elliot International Limited from Paul Singer. 6

Leadership

Paul E. Singer is the president of the Singer Family Charitable Foundation, president of the Paul E. Singer Foundation, and the founder, president, co-CEO, and co-CIO of Elliott Investment Management. Singer is a cofounder of Start-Up Nation Central and chair of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. 7 In 2012, Singer donated $1 million towards the founding of the American Unity PAC. 8

Gordon Singer is a vice president of the Singer Family Charitable Foundation and an equity and managing partner at Elliott Investment Management. Singer is the head of Elliott’s London office. 9

Andrew Morris-Singer is a vice president of the Singer Family Charitable Foundation and the founder and chair of Primary Care Progress. Morris-Singer is a lecturer in Global Health & Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. 10
