Salmon for All is an environmentalist-aligned business league that promotes policies to benefit commercial fishing industries around the Columbia River region in the Pacific Northwest. Activities
Salmon for All is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit business league founded in 1958 as an association of commercial fishing industry associates around in the Columbia River region of the Pacific Northwest including fish buyers, processors and associated businesses. 1 2
Salmon for All advocates for policies and legislation focused on environmental conservation, increased employment in the fishing industry, and protecting commercial sales of local salmon and sturgeon. 4 The group was founded to oppose legislation that would have banned fishing in the Columbia River in the states of Washington, Oregon, and other regions of the Pacific Northwest. 5
Salmon for All also claims to advocate reduced development in wetlands as well as increased hydroelectric projects in both the Columbia and Snake Rivers. 3
Salmon for All has previously advocated for preventing the catching of protected and endangered fish through fishing laws that promote practices to selectively catch fish to limit impact on at-risk fish populations. 6
In May 2019, Salmon for All released a report claiming that, in response to climate change and environmental needs, increased conservation practices have been incorporated into local commercial harvesting systems. 7

Jim Wells is the president of the board for Salmon for All. 8
Steve Fick is the vice president of the board for Salmon for All. Fick is the owner of the Fishhawk Fisheris commercial fishing business based in Oregon and Alaska. 8
Irene Martin is the secretary pro temp of the board for Salmon for All. Martin also works as a freelance writer and is the chairwoman of Salmon for Al’s Economic Committee. 8
Financials
According to its 2023 tax filings, Salmon for All reported $87,888 in revenue, $64,414 in expenses, and $164,947 in assets. According to the forms, expenses included projects to gather data from those who participate in the Columbia River fishing industry, hosting conferences and meetings, and providing educational and promotional material on the fishing industry to the public. Of its revenue, $75,902 came from membership dues, $3,337 from investment income, and $8,649 from sales. 2
