One Illinois Media is a left-of-center nonprofit journalism project focused on Illinois. The project has taken six-figure funding from the Illinois Education Association government worker labor union,¹ and its board includes former Chicago Alderman Ameya Pawar (D); Sam Hobert, a former staffer for U.S. Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL); and Jennifer Camille Lee, the founder of a left-wing state-level advocacy group.²
