The Murad Family Foundation is the private grantmaking foundation of the Murad family, which principally derives its wealth from Murad Skincare, a skincare brand founded by Howard Murad. The foundation supports left-leaning health care, educational, and civic organizations, as well as a variety of California-based nonprofits.
Background
The Murad Family Foundation was founded as a private family foundation in El Segundo, California in June 2011. 1 The Murad family, members of which sit on foundation’s board of directors, largely derives its wealth from Murad Skincare, a skincare company founded by foundation board member Howard Murad, which was acquired in July 2015 by the multinational healthcare corporation Unilever for an undisclosed sum. 2 The foundation’s founder and president is Howard Murad’s daughter, Hilarie Murad, who notably took over management of Murad Skincare after her father’s retirement. 3 4
As of September 26, 2021, the foundation’s official website is inaccessible. 5
