House of GG is a left-of-center nonprofit organization that provides all-inclusive retreats for ethnic minority transgender women. Its retreats provide training to motivate guests to become career LGBT activists. 1

House of GG has advocated in support of far-left legislation to allow minors to choose to partake in gender transitioning procedures, like hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery, without parental consent. 2 In 2020, it received a “six figure” grant from Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation. 3

Background

House of GG is a nonprofit organization that engages in LGBT advocacy initiatives. The name “House of GG” refers to a single-family home purchased in May 2019 by House of GG founder Miss Major Griffin-Gracy in Little Rock, Arkansas. The home hosts retreats for transgender people, specifically African American transgender women. 4 House of GG also hosts retreats in small towns in the southern United States. 5

House of GG’s retreats are fully funded and all-inclusive for guests. They are designed to create an exclusive community for transgender individuals and to create a network of transgender activists. 6 The retreats put guests through “leadership programs” to encourage them to pursue careers in left-of-center LGBT activism. 7

Advocacy

House of GG has advocated in support of legislation that allows children to partake in gender transitioning procedures, including hormone therapy, without parental consent. 8

House of GG has campaigned against the Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act, which seeks to ban gender transitioning treatments for adolescents, and has claimed such legislation denies children necessary health care. 9

People

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy is the founder and executive director of House of GG. She has been a transgender activist for over 50 years, dating back to when she participated in the Stonewall Riots. 1011

Tracie Jada O’Brien is president of the board of House of GG. O’Brien has been a transgender activist since the 1970s, leading multiple movements and organizations aimed at advocating on behalf of transgender individuals. 12

Financials

In 2019, House of GG reported $1,011,405 in total revenue and $259,553 in total expenses. 13 In 2020, it received a “six figure” grant from Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation. 14

House of GG claims on its donation page that 100% of donations “will go toward the purchase, renovation, and furnishing costs associated with the site to house and train our future Trans leaders of the South.” 15
