The Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network (GSA Network) is an advocacy group that promotes legislation that protects LGBTQ individuals.
Background
The GSA Network is made from an umbrella of over 4000 Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) clubs and student groups within schools and other academic settings across the country. According to the organization, “GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in middle schools and high schools, and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.” 1
According to writer and activist Christopher Rufo, the GSA Network have been using a “Nine Point Platform,” which it had borrowed from trans activist organization the National Trans Youth Council, to determine its, “collective vision for gender justice and liberation.” 1 Points on the platform include calling for, “the Abolition of the Police, ICE, Borders and the Judicial System,” “the end of the Cisgender Heterosexual Patriarchy,” “Decolonization and Reparations for all Indigenous and Black Peoples,” and, “an End to Global White Supremacy.” 2
