The organization’s work revolves around providing critical race theory-inspired “diversity, equity, and inclusion” professional development programs for teachers. The organization seeks to train teachers to be “culturally responsive” and sensitive to race in the classroom and to “transform the mind and skills” of teachers and school administrators. 4 5

Consultant Report Card

Culturally Responsive was profiled by right-leaning watchdog organization Parents Defending Education as one of dozens of left-leaning consulting firms and advocacy groups that provide consulting services on critical race theory-inspired diversity, equity, and inclusion issues to schools. 7

Through public records, Parents Defending Education identified a canceled contract with the Sarasota, Florida public school district for the organization to conduct trainings for teachers and administrators. The report found that Sarasota County schools paid to have Sharroky Hollie deliver cultural sensitivity training to faculty members in August 2020, but the school system superintendent cancelled the $115,000 contract with the organization in September 2021. The report additionally found that the organization had conducted trainings at Edina High School in the Edina School District in Minnesota. 8
