The Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries was an activist organization founded by Marsha P. Johnson, a gay rights activist and drag queen. STAR advocated for gay rights and participated in volunteer efforts to support homeless LGBT youth and prostitutes in New York City in the 1970’s.1
