Background

Corrie LLC is operated by Corrie Wallace, a left-leaning consultant who worked as the leader of equity programs for Niles Township High School District 219 and has described herself as an “anti-oppression educator.” 6

The firm’s largest contract publicly available was awarded in 2016 for development of a racial equity program for the Evanston-Skokie School District 65. The program was titled “Cultivating Opportunities for Respectful Reflection on Identity Through Education.” The plan presented to the school district included “equity walks” for Wallace to assess District 65’s policies, procedures, and curriculum through a “racial equity lens.” The firm then developed a five-to-ten year action plan to implement its suggested changes while continuing to provide training and “awareness” programs for teachers and administrators. 7

Consultant Report Card

Corrie was profiled by right-leaning advocacy organization Parents Defending Education as one of dozens of left-leaning consulting firms that provide consulting services on critical race theory-inspired diversity, equity, and inclusion issues to schools. 8

Parents Defending Education identified at least $316,375 in spending by the Evanston-Skokie School District on Corrie LLC’s services over a three-year period. 9
