Arizona Blue 2020 (usually written as AZ Blue 2020, also known as Turning Arizona Blue! 2020 ¹) was an Arizona PAC dedicated to flipping the Arizona state legislature to Democratic control in 2020. The organization was ultimately unsuccessful, as Republicans retained a two-seat majority in the state Senate and a three-seat majority in the state House.

AZ Blue 2020 is defunct as of early 2022. The organization’s website is offline, and its Facebook group hasn’t made a new post since September 2020, though it did add two new photos in January 2022. ² The PAC reported no revenue or expenditures since the end of 2020. ³

Expenditure

From 2017 to the end of 2020, Arizona Blue 2020 spent $27,449, primarily on independent expenditures. Its largest political beneficiaries were the Arizona Democratic Party and the Protecting Arizona’s Family Coalition. ⁴

Funding

From 2017 to the end of 2020, Arizona Blue 2020 raised $23,921, about half of which came through ActBlue, a major Democratic fundraising platform. ^{5 6}

AZ Blue 2020 is listed as a partner of Field Team 6, a national Democratic get-out-the-vote group. ⁷

In October 2018, AZ Blue 2020 was a partner at an event funded by Indivisible AZ, Desert Progressives, and Optimists Resist. ⁸
