Progressive Victory (PV)
Progressive Victory (PV) is a political action committee (PAC) that works with online content creators to mobilize internet users to become canvassers and phone bankers to help influence elections in battleground states and push the Democratic Party further left. 1 It exclusively supports the election of left-of-center politicians and follows left-of-center ideologies relating to environmental policy, immigration policy, election policy, and economic policy. PV was founded in 2022 by Sam Drzymala and runs its financing through Amalgamated Bank, which is largely owned by the Workers United labor union and is the preferred bank of the institutional Democratic Party. 2 3

Events
Progressive Victory claims it works to turn internet users into ‘on-the-ground organizers’ by paying popular live streamers on Twitch and YouTube to have left-of-center influencers and politicians on their livestreams. In 2024, PV paid the Twitch streamer Pokimaine to have U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and left-leaning entrepreneur and TV personality Mark Cuban appear on her stream to endorse then-Vice President Kamala Harris for President. Sen. Sanders spoke about raising the minimum wage and how he believed it was vital to vote for Harris. Cuban spoke about his disapproval of President Donald Trump and his ideologies. Cuban then suggested that it was the responsibility of the federal government to take care of low-income individuals in the United States and that he believed Vice President Harris would be able to do so, but President Trump would not because he “only cares about bigger companies.” 4
Initiatives
Progressive Victory coordinated the Save Section 230 Initiative. Section 230 is the section of the Communication Decency Act of 1996 that allows online service providers/social media sites to moderate content in whatever way they deem acceptable without being held legally liable for content created by users. 5
PV opposes legislation to curtail Section 230 and started the Save Section 230 Initiative to organize opposition to the bill. 6 The initiative suggested that people who opposed the amendments should act by joining PV’s discord campaign, calling their local U.S. House and Senate reps and then joining a phonebank set up by PV to call five specific representatives. Those targeted U.S. Representatives were Ro Khanna (D-CA), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Frank Pallone (D-NJ), Doris Matsui (D-CA), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), because PV described them as the “congresspeople we have determined to be the most valuable to reach.” 6
The final action PV suggested was becoming a dues-paying member so that PV had more funds to help with operation costs. 6 As of June 2026, legislation had only been introduced and had not passed either House of Congress. 7
Leadership
Sameul Drzymala is the founder and executive director of Progressive Victory. Drzymala describes himself as a digital content expert and has been involved with left-of-center movements and political strategy ever since he graduated from Washington University in 2006. After graduating, Drzymala worked as a research assistant for the political strategy organization The Glover Park Group. 8
In 2007, he worked as an online assistant for the Progressive Majority PAC. In 2008, Drzymala worked as an email writer for then-U.S. Senator Barack Obama’s (D-IL) 2008 presidential campaign, and then in 2009, as a media coordinator for Claire McCaskill’s (D-MO) senatorial campaign. In 2012, Drzymala was the digital outreach director for the American Bridge PAC, and from 2013 to 2016, he worked as the digital director for Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) senatorial campaign and then his office after his election. From 2016 to 2021, he was the principal of Clever Edge, a campaign consultancy group, and in 2022, he founded PV. 8
In 2025, Drzymala co-founded At Dawn Campaigns, a campaign advertising group that focuses on reaching voters through the internet. As of 2026, Drzymala was working at PV and At Dawn Campaigns. 8
Endorsements
On its website, Progressive Victory shares a list of candidates it has endorsed for election. 9 All candidates who are endorsed by PV take the “PV Pledge.” This pledge is a list of principles that endorsed candidates must subscribe to and work to achieve if they make it into office. 10
Tenets
Some of the tenets of this pledge are “[candidates who] agree that the Democratic Party is the best vehicle to achieve progressive policy.” 10 The candidate must identify as “Progressive” to the exclusion of other potential Democratic Party factional groups. The candidate must agree that online content should be treated as valuable as traditional media and that digital freedom is as important as personal freedom. The candidate also may not accept any support from PAC’s, even though PV itself is a PAC. 10
Policies
PV demands that all endorsed candidates support ranked-choice voting, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuting its officers, implementing the Green New Deal, re-joining the Paris Climate Accords, and getting rid of all coal power plants. It also demands that endorsed candidates support taxpayer-funded universal healthcare, raising the minimum wage to $25 an hour for publicly traded companies, and increasing taxpayer spending on colleges so that community colleges are free and public universities are heavily subsidized. It demands that candidates support aligning all foreign policy with standards created by other countries and to “revoke all military, economic, political, and legal support for the state of Israel until there is an end to the genocide and apartheid of the Palestinians.” 10
Endorsed Candidates
Candidates who took the pledge and are now endorsed by PV include U.S. Rep. Analilia Mejia (D-NJ); U.S. Senate candidates Charles Booker of Kentucky, Julie Gonzales of Colorado, and James Talarico of Texas; and Congressional candidate Matt Ortega of California. Ortega is a dues-paying member of PV, as are Congressional candidates Jeromie Whalen of Massachusetts and Heath Howard of New Hampshire. 9
