The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), also known as BoldProgressives.org, is a left-of-center Super Political Action Committee (PAC) that advocates policies including single-payer government-run healthcare, the Green New Deal, Social Security expansion, and debt-free college. 1 Political candidates that the PCCC has endorsed include Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), former Kentucky State Rep. Charles Booker (D-Louisville), Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA). 2

The group was first active during the 2010 election cycle and has historically endorsed the farthest-left members of Congress. The group is funded in part by the Progressive Change Institute, a far-left advocacy group affiliated with the PCCC. 3 4

Background

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee was founded in 2009 by Democratic operatives and left-wing activists Adam Green and Stephanie Taylor and was first active during the 2010 election cycle. The group also conducts activity under the name BoldProgressives, or BoldProgressives.org. The group was founded as a super PAC, a designation given to political action committees that can conduct unlimited amounts of independent expenditures on behalf of or against federal candidates. The group describes itself as a grassroots advocacy group with a million members, however Federal Election Commission filing show that the group receives substantial funding from the Progressive Change Institute. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is among the politicians that the group most closely aligns itself with, with the PCCC stating that it has supported her since her initial run for U.S. Senate and that it was the first national political organization to endorse Warren’s 2020 campaign for president. 5 6

Issues

The group supports a wide range of far-left stances some of which it dubs as “economic populist priorities” including “expanding Social Security, Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, student debt cancellation, and Wall Street reform.” 6

Endorsements

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee has endorsed among the farthest-left members of Congress and Congressional candidates including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), former Kentucky State Rep. and Senate candidate Charles Booker (D-Louisville), Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA). 2

In June 2023, ABC News reported that PCCC was planning to spend, “hundreds of thousands of dollars into an effort to elect hundreds of left-leaning school board members across the country.” According to Hannah Riddle, the PCCC’s director of candidate services, the PAC would be “focusing its efforts in battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, as well as Illinois and Virginia, where several school boards seats will see vacancies.” 7

During the 2024 Democratic primaries, the PCCC was among the far-left political groups that according to ABC News were “forced to play defense” due to the challenges to many far-left members of Congress, who in some cases were opposed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), due to many left-wing candidates’ anti-Israel stances. ABC’s report stated that “Our Revolution and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, both major players in many past Democratic primaries, also appeared to take big pauses this year, endorsing just a small fraction of the number of non-incumbents they supported in 2022.” 8
