Stoll spent 36 years working at Ernst and Young, where he retired as a partner in 2018. He worked across several areas at Ernst and Young, overseeing the firm’s non-audit advisory work at a banking client in San Francisco from 2010 to 2018. He was also credited with expanding the firm’s consulting practice in Zurich, Switzerland, and founded the firm’s asset liability management advisory practice and U.S. financial services consulting practice, serving numerous “super regional banks across the U.S.” 1
Since 2019, Stoll has been the Audit Committee Chair of Farmers Group, Inc. as well as the Audit Committee Chair and member of the Executive Committee of Farmers New World Life Insurance Company, Farmers Group, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary. 2
In 2023, Stoll was appointed to the board of directors of Amalgamated Bank, a bank aligned with the labor union movement that was formerly owned by Workers United, SEIU and its predecessor unions. The bank has over $4 billion in assets and nearly $40 billion under management, largely from union pension funds. The bank operates as a “a left-of-center, changemaker bank” that uses financial mechanisms to push for left-of-center corporate policies and provides boutique banking services to labor unions, left-of-center organizations, environmentalist-aligned businesses, and the campaigns of left-of-center political candidates. The bank has counted Ready for Hillary (a super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign), the Democratic National Committee, and labor unions and similar organizations among its clients. 3 4 5
