Robert Romasco is an investment banker who sits on the board of Amalgamated Bank, ¹ a union-founded bank that offers services to groups connected to the Democrat Party such as the Democratic National Committee, Democratic Governors Association, and the Biden 2020 presidential campaign. ² Romasco was elected to the Amalgamated Bank’s board of directors in 2014 after he left the board of AARP, on which he had sat since 2006. ¹

Finance Career

Robert Romasco’s first key position in the marketing industry began at Epsilon, where he worked from 1978 to 1989, reaching positions as high as vice president of marketing and CFO. ³

From 1990 to 1993, Romasco was a consultant with Corporate Decisions Inc. In 1993, he became the senior vice president of American Century Investments, ³ an asset management company that now holds over $250 billion in assets. ⁴ He held that position until 1999 when he became the president and CEO of J.C. Penny Direct Marketing Services, a position he held for only three years. ³

In 2002, Romasco became the CMO of Cigna, a health insurance group with over $180 billion in revenue. ⁵ In 2005, he became the senior vice president of QVC, a marketing group that advertises products on TV shopping channels. ³

Advocacy Career

In mid-2006 Romasco became the president of AARP, a lobbying group that focuses on individuals over 50. In 2014, he left AARP and joined Amalgamated Bank as a board member, a position which he still holds. ³
