Career

In 1984, Mark Finser joined the Rudolf Steiner Foundation, a financial services organization that supports left-of-center businesses involved in the arts and food distribution. Initially started in 1938, the foundation would be rebranded by Finser and other employees and was relaunched as RSF Social Finance. Following the rebranding, Finser worked as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the group as well as a board member and trustee of the organization. However, by 2018, Finser had scaled back responsibilities to sit as a trustee by 2018. 1

In 2007, Finser became a founding partner of TBL Capital; he left the organization in 2010. In 2008, Finser became a founding board member and chairman of the New Resource Bank. He held that role until 2018 when the bank merged with the historically labor union-owned Amalgamated Bank. 1 In December 2023, Finser sold 8,000 shares of Amalgamated Bank stock worth over $200,000. 2

In 2008, Finser became a director of Gaia Herbs, an herbal supplement business based in Brevard, North Carolina. 1

Finser has sat on the boards of B Lab and the Yggdrasil Land Foundation. 1

Cryptocurrency

Finser has argued in favor of cryptocurrency. In January 2023, Finser took part in a podcast with Foundation for Health Creation where he discussed his support for using cryptocurrency as a means of improving people’s health and the planet. Finser stated his support for the tool, but argued that most cryptocurrencies had become “tools of speculation rather than viable means of exchange.” 3

Political Advocacy

Mark Finser has previously donated to Democratic Party-affiliated organizations including ActBlue, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DNCC), Win the Era PAC, and Amalgamated Bank PAC. In addition he has donated to the political campaigns for Democrats running for office, including the 2024 presidential campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and Will Rollins, an unsuccessful 2024 U.S. House candidate from California. 4
