Background
Koob has previously held positions with left-of-center and Democratic Party organizations including director of finance convention operations at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from April 2008 to September 2008 and director of compliance at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from September 2008 to May 2011. He also served as the senior advisor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), was a senior advisor for former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro (D), and was previously the principal of political consulting group Capitol Compliance Associates (CCA), which he co-founded in 2011. 2 1
Koob previously worked on political campaigns for former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT), and later joined the 2000 presidential campaign of then-Vice President Al Gore (D) when Lieberman was selected to be his running mate. 6
Activities
In April 2023, Koob released a post on X (formerly Twitter) calling Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) a “complete moron” who is “unfit to serve” in response to a post in which Rep. Greene claimed, “Soros funded progressive DA’s are destroying our justice system.” 7
In November 2023, he made a post on X criticizing Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), who had called the part-time state legislature into special session. Koob wrote, “Don’t know why that bitch ass Gov keeps spending $12m to bring y’all back for a special session where he can’t pass anything. Waste of time and money. What a complete imbecile.” 8
In October 2024, he posted on X that he and his wife had early voted for Vice President Kamela Harris in the 2024 presidential election and for U.S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) for U.S Senate. 9
