Planned Parenthood Generation Action (PPGA) is a youth-focused abortion-access advocacy campaign created by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. The program promotes greater access to abortions and contraceptives for college-aged women and conducts voter registration and activist training. The program works primarily on college campuses and is present on more than 350 campuses nationwide. ^{1 2}

Values and Activities

The primary values for Planned Parenthood Generation Action (PPGA) are, “Inclusion, abortion stigma, trans inclusion, elections, and power building.” ³ PPGA defines itself as “inclusive of all genders, diverse backgrounds, and communities impacted by reproductive health injustices.” ³

PPGA also advocates for funding Planned Parenthood health centers. ⁴ PPGA also engages in broader left-of-center advocacy, stating that it “develops young leaders to build across movements, identities, and issues in order to harness our collective power and impact change in our communities more effectively.” ³

Political Activities

Planned Parenthood Action Fund is the parent group of Planned Parenthood Generation Action, and they are both within the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.  The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is the lobbying arm of Planned Parenthood. As such, Planned Parenthood Generation Action is designed to promote youth activism to elect more politicians who support abortion and contraceptives into political office. ^{1 2}

According to tax filings, in 2021 Planned Parenthood Action Fund gave money to the Democratic Party of New Mexico, Arizona Democratic Party, Democratic Party of Georgia, Nevada state Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, as well as over $250,000 to Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s campaign for governor of Virginia. ⁵
