The Latinx Therapists Action Network (LTAN) is a left-of-center advocacy group that provides mental health support services to migrant communities, as well as activists, attorneys, and service providers involved in immigration-related work. 1
History
Latinx Therapists Action Network (LTAN) was founded in 2018 by Francisca Porchas Coronado, a longtime activist for immigrants’ interests. 2 The group claims to provide a directory of therapists which it calls “an offering to the migrant rights movement” as well as “a directory of culturally grounded, Latinx mental health practitioners who believe in the human right and dignity of Latinx communities and Latinx migrant communities across the United States.” 3
In 2022, LTAN expanded to include 103 mental health practitioners across 28 U.S states. 4
Funding
According to its 2023 990 form, Latinx Therapists Action Network (LTAN) received $85,000 in grants from the General Service Foundation, which was directed through NEO Philanthropy. 5
In 2024, LTAN received a $150,000 grant from the Heising-Simons Foundation through NEO Philanthropy. 6
LTAN accepts donations through ActBlue Charities, a pass-through organization created to facilitate donations to left-of-center nonprofits that is the charitable affiliate of the 501(c)(4) nonprofit ActBlue Civics and 527 political action committee ActBlue. 7
