The Campbell Collaboration is an advocacy group composed of researchers and policy makers that produce data in 11 different areas including aging, management, climate, disability, and social welfare. The group conducts and sponsors research addressing societal issues on local and global scales. CC has regional centers in Europe, South Asia and China. 1
It is a sister initiative of the Cochrane Collaboration, a British organization synthesizing medical research to support evidence-based health decisions for professionals, patients, and policymakers. 2
History
Founded in 2000, the Campbell Collaboration takes name from the American psychologist Donald T. Campbell, a member of the National Academy who advocated the use of scientific evidence to make governmental and societal changes. 3
The nonprofit’s concept originated in London in 1999, when 80 attendees gathered to discuss the best methods for producing systematic reviews of research. 3
The group established a regional center, Campbell UK and Ireland, at Queen’s University Belfast in 2016. In 2019, the group established Campbell South Asia at New Delhi, India, and the Cambell China Network as part of its “Go East” strategy. 3

The organization has been tax-exempt since June 2001. On its 2023 tax return, Campbell Collaboration reported total revenue of $2,772,925, with total assets of $987,425, while reporting a total of $750,000 in contributions and total expenses of $2,359,159. 4
