United States Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR)

USCPR Action has endorsed several prominent Democratic political candidates based on their support for Palestinian interests, including New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), and former Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO). ^{6  7}

Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), a prominent left-of-center activist group which claims to represent Jews who sympathize with the Palestinian independence movement, has indicated its support for the USCPR. ⁸ The Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a major left-of-center grantmaking entity, has backed the group. ⁹

Activities

U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action (USCPR Action) maintains a representative scorecard that tracks the fidelity of individual U.S. lawmakers to Palestinian interests and USCPR Action’s broader policy goals. ¹⁰

As of May 2026, U.S. Representatives Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Delia Ramirez (D-IL), Al Green (D-TX), and Summer Lee (D-PA) had the highest ratings from USCPR Action. U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) had the highest ratings in the Senate. ¹¹

As of 2026, the scorecard’s methodology included the evaluation of positions on advancing Palestinian interests, ending military funding for Israel, making demands for a ceasefire in the post-October 7, 2023 Israel-Hamas war, and supporting the end of what USCPR Action calls Israel’s “military occupation and blockade” of the Palestinian territories. Since October 2023, USCPR Action has also used input from members of the far-left Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for tracking legislative developments related to Gaza. ¹¹

USCPR also publishes its position on developments related to Israel and the disputed Palestinian territories. In May 2024, USCPR expressed its support for the Popular University for Gaza encampment at Columbia University and the violent protests associated with the encampment. USCPR also called on Columbia and other universities to divest from Israel. ¹²

In April 2024, USCPR Action opposed a congressional appropriations bill that threatened to halt direct humanitarian aid funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) through 2025. ¹³ The appropriations bill passed, canceling direct aid to UNRWA through March 2025. ¹⁴

In August 2024, USCPR Action’s executive director Ahmad Abuznaid criticized then-Vice President Kamala Harris for her speech at the Democratic National Convention during which she said that she would continue supporting Israel militarily and financially if elected president. ¹⁵

The United States Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) states that it opposes antisemitism while also taking a “stand against Zionism,” which it defines as “a political system that privileges the rights of Jews over the rights of others.” The organization also argues that “the charge of antisemitism” is often “used spuriously to silence legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies and practices.” The USCPR supports self-determination and self-governance for Palestinian Arabs in the region, as well as what it calls their “right of return” to territories under Israeli control from which the organization claims they were forcibly removed. The organization describes Israel’s policies towards Palestinians as “apartheid,” a reference to South Africa’s policy of racial segregation throughout most of the 20th century. ¹⁶

Advocacy

U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action advocates for legislation, endorses political candidates, and targets political candidates who don’t agree with their Palestinian-related activism. ¹⁰ On Facebook, USCPR Action has called for a “summer of resistance” in 2024 against U.S. policy in Israel ¹⁷ and said that “Zionist politicians in [U.S.] congress are moving to arm the aggressive Israeli regime.” ¹⁸ The organization has also asked Democratic Party elected officials to reject the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) ¹⁹ and hosted events featuring left-wing Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour and U.S. Rep Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).  ²⁰

USCPR Action claims that it opposes the “imperialism of the U.S. government” and the “influential power of Zionist groups” such as AIPAC and Christians United for Israel. The organization has also launched election pledges for candidates, intends to endorse candidates running in 2024, and lobbies on Capitol Hill to end U.S. military funding to Israel. ²¹

USCPR Action is a member of Reject AIPAC, a coalition of left-of-center organizations working to oppose AIPAC and related organizations across electoral, political, digital, and organizing strategies. ²²

In 2024, USCPR Action co-signed a letter with left-of-center Muslim groups including American Muslims for Palestine, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Coalition for Justice in Palestine, Doctors Against Genocide, the Muslim Civil Coalition, Muslims for Just Futures, the Palestinian American Council, the Justice Coalition, and the United Holy Land Fund that declined to meet with the Biden administration to discuss the Israel-Hamas war. ²³

USCPR Action leads an effort to e-mail members of U.S. Congress to demand that they put pressure on Israel to end its fighting in Gaza and demand the restoration of funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to provide money to Palestinian refugees. ^{24 25 26}

In September 2025, USCPR Action endorsed Zohran Mamdani (D) for New York City Mayor. ⁶ Upon his election to that office, the group congratulated Mamdani and praised his support for an arms embargo on Israel, among other pro-Palestinian positions. ²⁷

In 2026, USCPR Action endorsed several political candidates based on their commitment to end U.S. military support for Israel; support for boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) efforts; and refusal of AIPAC funding. The group’s endorsements included U.S. Representatives Cori Bush (D-MO), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Delia Ramirez (D-IL), as well as candidates Claire Valdez (D-NY-), Darializa Chevalier (D-NY), Donovan McKinney (D-MI), Saikat Chakrabarti (D-CA), Adam Hamaway (D-NJ), and Chris Rabb (D-PA). ⁷

U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights

The U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) is the charitable sister organization affiliated with USCPR Action. ² USCPR is a network of left-of-center activists and pressure groups that advocates for an end the political and military influence of Israel over the disputed Palestinian territories. The organization also demands that the United States government end its diplomatic, financial, and military support of Israel, and attempts to shift American public opinion away from supporting the country and its interests. ^{28  29}

USCPR advocates for the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement, which pushes for governments and businesses to divest any Israel-related investments. ²⁸ USPCR backed House Resolution 496, a pro-BDS proposal introduced by far-left Democratic U.S. Representatives Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN). The group also opposed the Combating BDS Act, a 2023 proposal which would allow state governments to deny contracts to private businesses if they oppose Israel. ³⁰

Leadership

Ahmad Abuznaid is the executive director of USCPR Action. ³¹ Abuznaid is also the executive director of USCPR Action’s sister organization, the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights. He is the co-founder of the “revolutionary” Dream Defenders and the former leader of the National Network for Arab American Communities. ³²

Abuznaid delivered a speech at the United Nations during which he supported New York state law A06943/S6992, a piece of legislation that limits charitable donations to Israeli settlements in the disputed Palestinian territories. The law was signed in December 2025 and prohibits nonprofit organizations from the benefits of nonprofit status if they donate to these settlements. ^{33  34}

US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action (USCPR Action) is a fiscally sponsored project of Beyond Impact (formerly Tides Advocacy), a left-of-center advocacy organization associated with the Tides Nexus. ³

In 2024, Beyond Impact reported $92,581,311 in total revenue, $93,194,026 in total expenses, and $39,431,742 in total assets. It paid out grants totaling $29,700,480. ³⁵

In 2024, USCPR Action’s sister 501(c)(3) organization U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights reported $2,575,630 in total revenue, $1,851,079 in total expenses, and $2,904,036 in total assets. ³⁶

In 2024, Women Donors Network Action issued a $150,000 grant to Beyond Impact that was designated to support USCPR Action. ³⁷
