The People’s Dispatch

In February 2026, Fox News reported on the role of the People’s Dispatch and the IPA in organizing opposition to American military action against the Maduro regime that resulted in Maduro’s capture. ⁶

In June 2026, it was announced that The People’s Dispatch would be merging with left-of-center media group BreakThrough News (BTN). According to the announcement, both groups agreed to “join into a single, unified text and video outlet” to advocate against the alleged “corporate-controlled media [that] has reconsolidated its control in the social media era.” ⁷

Activities

The People’s Dispatch publishes articles related to left-wing political movements across the world. ⁸ It also produces the Give The People What They Want! podcast and the “People’s Health Dispatch” socialist health-care newsletter. ^{9  10} In 2024, the People’s Dispatch was rated as “Far-Left Biased” by Media Bias/Fact Check for its promotion of Marxist-Leninist perspectives. ³

Editorial Positions

Venezuela

In 2026, the People’s Dispatch expressed its opposition to American military action in Venezuela. A January 2026 People’s Dispatch article claimed the operation to depose de facto Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his regime was “illegal” and put the “legitimacy” of the United States into question. ^{11  5}

A 2026 Fox News article highlighted the role of the International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA) and the People’s Dispatch in coordinating pro-Maduro protests across the United States in the wake of Maduro’s arrest, as both groups immediately condemned the United States’s actions in Venezuela and called for an “Emergency Day of Action” in opposition to the arrest. ⁶

Israel-Palestine

In December 2023, the People’s Dispatch published an article reporting that Israel’s response to the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack constituted a genocide. The article extended its condemnation of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza to the United States, which it accused of being complicit in genocide for providing munitions and military funding to Israel. ⁴

In October 2025, the People’s Dispatch was cited in an International Action Center (IAC) article that reported on the acquisition of social media company TikTok by American businessman Larry Ellison, a supporter of Israel. The IAC article used People’s Dispatch reporting to suggest that Ellison and other media businessmen supportive of Israel were forming a “pro-Zionist media monopoly” to control and censor criticism of Israel online, claiming that the Larry Ellison and his son, David Ellison, “now have their sights set on the acquisition of Warner-Brothers Discovery which includes CNN.” ¹²

The International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA)

The International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA) is the parent organization of the Peoples’ Dispatch. The IPA is an umbrella organization for socialist, communist, and other left-wing political groups that support an anti-imperialist, anti-Israel, and pro-feminist political agenda. IPA’s partner organizations include ALBA Movements, Code Pink, the Communist Party of Nepal, the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba, the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research, the Internationalist Collective for Political Education, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), among others. ^{2  13}

The IPA regularly celebrates communism and communist leaders, including in 2024 when it commemorated the 100th anniversary of the death of Soviet dictator Vladimir Lenin, supported the re-election of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro in an election generally considered unfair and un-free by international observers, and celebrated the anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto. ^{14  15  16}

In 2026, the IPA expressed opposition to the United States’s military action against Venezuela and the capture of Maduro. ¹⁷ The IPA has also called for an end to what it considers the “U.S.-Israeli Genocide of the Palestinian people” in Gaza and advocates for countries to cut ties with Israel. IPA’s newsletter has called for trying United States President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a supposed “genocide of the Palestinian people.” ^{18  19}

Leadership

According to the group’s 2024 tax return, Vijay Prashad is the president of the People’s Dispatch. ²⁰ Prashad is a Marxist historian and journalist who has authored 40 books, including Washington Bullets: A History of the CIA, Coups, and Assassinations; Red Star Over the Third World; and The Darker Nations: A People’s History of the Third World. As of 2026, he was the executive director of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research, the chief correspondent for Globetrotter, and the chief editor of LeftWord Books. ²¹

As of 2026, Zoe Alexandra was the editor-in-chief at the People’s Dispatch. ¹
