Securing American Greatness

Background

Securing American Greatness is a West Palm Beach-based political nonprofit group that was focused on educating voters and encouraging voter registration for “all Americans aligned with a conservative agenda” during the 2024 election cycle. It was established in mid-2024 and led by Taylor Budowich, the founder of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) super PAC that supported President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. ^{1  2  5} It was considered the “main political nonprofit group tied to the 2024 presidential candidates” for Republicans. ²

It advertises in support of right-of-center positions on border security, crime, safety, taxes, economic growth, and a strong national defense. It awards grants to other organizations with similar agendas. ⁶

Political Policies

Securing American Greatness champions a conservative political agenda. It advocates for broad tax cuts to stimulate economic growth. It supports keeping criminals in jail, no cashless bail for violent criminals, and improved policing practices. It supports border security, a completed border wall, and strict immigration limits. ^{7  8  9}

Financials

According to the New York Times, Securing American Greatness raised about $275 million from unknown donors in 2024. Donations ranged from $2,500 to $35 million. The donors are not documented, since nonprofit groups can keep funding sources hidden. ²

Securing American Greatness gave $62 million to Make America Great Again (MAGA), the Super PAC that supported President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, in October 2024. ^{5  10} It gave money to several conservative groups including Lawfare Defense Fund, which is led by Republican donors John Paulson and Pepe Fanjul, and to Send the Vote, which focused on voter engagement among young men. ² It spent $55 million on issues advocacy advertising and $25 million on direct mail campaigning in 2024. ³

In 2025, Securing American Greatness spent over $18 million on advertising, advocating for the second Trump administration-supported “One Big Beautiful Bill” and for 22 Republican members of Congress. ³

SAG PAC

During the 2024 campaign, Securing American Greatness established its own super PAC, SAG PAC, to attack then-presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. It described Kennedy as “pro-choice” and a “progressive Democrat.” In August 2024 Kennedy suspended his campaign and endorsed then-former President Trump. ^{11  3}

Leadership

Taylor Budowich led Securing American Greatness until August 2024 when he joined then-former President Trump‘s campaign, ⁵ along with his business partner Tony Fabrizio and spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. ¹² In November 2024, Budowich was named deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel and assistant to the president for the second Trump administration. ⁵ He left the administration in September 2025 to return to the private sector. ¹³

As of August 2024, David Lee was executive director of Securing American Greatness. ¹⁴ Lee was a partner of Fabrizio, Lee and Associates, a public opinion research and strategic consulting firm that worked to manage perceptions in support of political campaigns. In 2024, the firm worked on several Republican campaigns and were pollsters for President Trump’s campaign. ^{15  16}

As of May 2026, Charles Gantt was treasurer and secretary of Securing American Greatness. He was also the treasurer of the SAG PAC. ¹⁷  He is senior vice president of Red Curve Solutions, a financial management group that supports political campaigns and fundraising groups. ^{18  19}

Controversies

Securing American Greatness, the SAG PAC, and the MAGA PAC are considered “dark money groups.” ² As a political nonprofit, Securing American Greatness is not required to disclose its contributors. It donated to the MAGA and SAG PACs. These PACs are required to disclose their donors, but the ultimate source is concealed since they disclose their receipts as coming from Securing American Greatness. Through this approach, the PACs do not have to disclose the original individual donors. ²⁰
