SalmonState is a center-left environmental advocacy group created to oppose the construction of Pebble Mine in Alaska, a major strategic minerals project opposed by a number of environmental advocacy groups on the Left. SalmonState is a project of the New Venture Fund, a fiscal sponsorship nonprofit managed by Arabella Advisors, a philanthropy consulting firm in Washington, D.C. ^{1 2}
