Rights and Democracy NH is an advocacy group located in New Hampshire that supports left-of-center positions on the minimum wage, Medicare expansion, public education, the environment, immigration, gun control, and other social policies. It is a project of the Rights and Democracy Education Fund, a nonprofit organization, and is affiliated with the national left-of-center coalitions Center for Popular Democracy and People’s Action. 1

Rights and Democracy NH positions are described in its “New Hampshire People’s Platform.” 2 The organization advocates for enacting a regional Green New Deal for the state of New Hampshire and eventually all New England. 3 Rights & Democracy NH is also officially endorsed by left-wing U.S. Sen. Ali Brokenshire is the leadership development coordinator for Rights and Democracy NH. She was arrested on June 24, 2021 by the New Hampshire state police for refusing to leave the Executive Council chambers while protesting the state budget. 6
Asma Elhumi is the movement politics director for Rights and Democracy NH. She was also arrested on June 24, 2021 for refusing to leave the Executive Council chambers alongside Brokenshire, along with three others. 6
