Activities
RightCount is an advocacy group that claims to promote voter integrity legislation as well as the process of vote counting and certifying election results. As of October 2024, RightCount had initiatives in five states: Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. It recruits volunteers to support the electoral process at the state level as well as election officials, 1 while claiming to educate voters on election laws and the voting process including counting and certification. 4
Financials
RightCount was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024 and had not filed tax returns as of October that year. 1
Leadership
As of 2024, former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R) was the chair of RightCount Arizona. 5 Brewer is a member of the leadership team of the Democracy Defense Project. 6
Eric Johnson is the chair of RightCount Georgia. Johnson is a former Republican member of the Georgia Senate, where he served as Senate Minority Leader and President Pro Tempore. 7
Bob List and Heidi Seevers O’Gara are the co-chairs of RightCount Nevada. List is a former Republican Governor of Nevada and O’Gara is a former Republican member of the Nevada State Senate. 8
Mark Schweiker and Lou Barletta are the co-chairs of RightCount Pennsylvania. Schweiker is a former Republican Governor of Pennsylvania and Barletta is a former Republican member of the U.S. House, representing Pennsylvania. 3
