MomsRising Education Fund is the fundraising and political advocacy arm of the left-of-center organization MomsRising. The organization argues for an expansion of the welfare state such as paid family and medical leave and other left-of-center policies such as gun control, amnesty for illegal immigrants and expansion of immigration quotas, and increasing taxes on the wealthy, among others. 1
The organization is the recipient of grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, 2 the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, 3 and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among other left-of-center foundations. 4 The organization was also a recipient of funds from the “Equality Can’t Wait Challenge” which was sponsored by Mackenzie Scott and Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, and managed by MacArthur Foundation affiliate Lever for Change. 5

The board president of the fund is Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, who is the founder and executive director of MomsRising. 6
Finances
According to the 2019 tax return, the organization raised $8,748,515 and spent $5,517,454. It had $5,748,504 in assets. 7
The main expenditure of the organization was $2,521,458 in grants paid to its 501(c)(4) sister organization, MomsRising Together. It also spent $425,873 on lobbying expenses. 8
Donors and Activities
In October 2019, the group received a $450,000 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. 9 In June 2020, it received a $250,000 grant from the Rockefeller Foundation. 10 In 2020, it received a $400,000 grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation 11 and was a Four Freedoms Fund grantee from Neo Philanthropy. 12
In July 2021, the group was part of a coalition called the Building Women’s Equality through Strengthening the Care Infrastructure which included other left-of-center organizations the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Caring Across Generations, the National Women’s Law Center, the Arc, and Family Values @ Work that received $10 million from the Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, which was co-sponsored by Mackenzie Scott. 13
