Central California Environmental Justice Network (CCEJN) is a climate justice organization that advocates for “eliminating negative environmental impacts in low-income and communites of color.” 1 According to its website, the CCEJN also supports proposals it claims will “end environmental racism, achieve economic justice, and health equity.” 1 The CCEJN has also engaged in “anti-fracking organizing,” training communities on how to advocate for banning the use of pesticides, and coordinating reporting networks meant to monitor environmental issues within the central California region. 2
In 2024, the organization received a $500,000 grant from the U.S Environmental Protection Agency‘s (EPA) “Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) Cooperative Agreement Program,” through funding under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), for the purpose of creating “campaigns capable of producing meaningful environmental and public health results.” 3
