The Progress Report is a project of the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP Action), a left-of-center advocacy organization established by longtime Clinton family confidant John Podesta. The publication serves as CAP Action’s daily newsletter and says (as of April 2020) that it provides “the most important resistance updates and actions in your inbox”1 as part of a comprehensive communications strategy totaling in excess of $8,000,000. 2
