Trans Joy KC LLC

Trans Joy KC was founded in 2023 by Kipp Ellis, who worked at the time at a local clinic providing gender reassignment health care services. ¹

Activities

Trans Joy KC claims to operate two sets of community-based events. The first are “Trans Joy in the Park” picnics, ³ at which attendees were still required to wear face masks as of April 2025. ⁴

The other is its “Trans Joy Camp,” a four-day nature camp ⁵ advertised as a “camping retreat for transgender and gender non-conforming folks of all ages.” ⁵ Trans Joy KC’s website notes that minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian. ⁵

Activism

In March 2025, Trans Joy KC was one of the listed participants in the “Boots on the Ground Volunteer Fair” activism event sponsored by Boots on the Ground Midwest, a local affiliate of the Indivisible national left-of-center coalition founded after the first election of President Donald Trump in 2016. ^{6 7 8}
