GAIN Power is a membership-based for-profit platform for Democratic political professionals. It can be described as a “Progressive LinkedIn” with job postings and networking capabilities for Democratic candidates, campaigns, organizations, and individuals interested in focusing on positions and events related to Democratic politics.1

GAIN Power is a member-based platform that is a “resource center and virtual meeting place for Democratic and Progressive leaders, talent, campaigns, looking for professional and volunteer opportunities.” According to its LinkedIn profile, it is “open to all Democratic & Progressive Professionals but, we are especially intentional in promoting Women, African American, Latinx, Native American, APIA, LGBTQI, and any underrepresented people.”2
GAIN Power went live in April 2020. Its predecessor organization, Democratic GAIN, was created in 2003 and provided training, job search capabilities, and career fairs and professional development events for left-of-center advocacy and political professionals. GAIN Power was created to replace Democratic GAIN with a stronger focus on the “Democratic & Progressive professional community – like a Progressive LinkedIn.” It currently has over 5,000 employer members and “over 100,000 connected progressive professionals.”1 3
GAIN Power is a tool for Democratic candidates and campaigns, liberal nonprofit organizations, and freelancers associated with the Democratic party.1
Its online career center maintains job listings, resume uploads, and career resources and hosts virtual career fairs. Organizations can post jobs and individuals can search for jobs through this portal. It includes a career resource center with articles that provide career advice and employment news. Job postings are listed by left-of-center organizations including New York State United Teachers, National Nurses United, the Reproductive Freedom Alliance, the Washington State Democratic Party, the Service Employees International Union, and Results for America.4
GAIN Power has an active member portal for networking and collaboration that as of 2025 listed over 14,000 member profiles and facilitates forums to exchange ideas.5 Groups can also be created for information sharing. GAIN Power shows 43 groups including Jobs That Are Left, Fundraising for Political Organizations, Latino/a/x Progressive Political Network, Black Progressive Political Network, LGBTQI+ Progressive Political Network, and Black Women in Progressive Politics.6
GAIN Power publishes directories with listings for candidates and campaigns, “progressive electoral and advocacy non-profits,” “progressive political firms and freelancers,” and “progressive arts and media.” Organizations listed in the directory include the National Democratic Training Committee, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Chicago, Reproductive Freedom for All, the Alliance For Youth Action, J Street, March For Our Lives, Open Progress, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC.7
In 2022, GAIN Power established an annual Powerful IDEA Awards event to recognize “people, organizations, technology, communications, and other resources that power progressive politics.” The first event was supported by the National Education Association, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and the Democratic National Committee.8
GAIN Power hosts RootsCamp, an annual “gathering for progressive activists, organizers, and changemakers” to share strategies and build momentum for future initiatives and elections.9
GAIN Power is listed as a partner of the No Kings movement which protests the second Trump administration. Other partners include Black Voters Matter, the Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, the League of Conservation Voters, Move to Amend, NextGen America, Our Revolution, People for the American Way, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Progressive Democrats of America, Rise and Resist, Stand Up America, and Working Families Power.10 At least 70 of the organizations involved in this movement are reported to be affiliates of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).11
In April 2025, GAIN Power posted its support for left-wing fundraising platform ActBlue which was being investigated by the Department of Justice for potential illegal activity. GAIN Power claimed that the investigation into ActBlue is a “brazen attack on democracy in America.”12 13
GAIN Power is a for-profit organization. It generates revenue through its platform services, promotions, and consulting work. Organization memberships allow organizations to post jobs, attend virtual career fairs, and publish a page on the directory. Member subscriptions allow individuals to publish a profile, join groups, connect with other members, post to forums, and attend virtual events. Its career fairs and network events can generate revenue. GAIN Power also accepts donations.3 14
Amy Pritchard was the founder of Democratic GAIN and is the founder and CEO of GAIN Power.1 She describes herself as a “progressive political consultant” who supports abortion, gun control, criminal and racial justice, expanding voting access, and climate change.15 She worked for several Democratic and left-of-center organizations throughout her career, including the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, the National Democratic Institute, the For Our Future PAC, and political consulting firm Mission Control. She is the founder and as of 2025 was the board president of Global GAIN, a nonprofit global leadership networking organization for women focused on gender equality, and the founding partner of Amplify Power, a voter contact firm focused on electing “bold Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQI+ candidates with strong progressive values.” Pritchard was on the advisory board of the left-wing networking group Women’s Information Network as of 2025.16
As of 2025, Seth Tanner was the COO and CTO at GAIN Power and was a partner of Amplify Power. His tagline in his GAIN Power member profile at that time was, “I like to defeat Republicans.”17 Tanner graduated from George Washington University with a master’s in political management and has worked for several Democratic organizations including the Democratic National Committee, College Democrats of America, Elizabeth Warren for Senate, and the For Our Future PAC.18
