Fleur Larsen Facilitation is a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultancy offering training to individuals and organizations on privilege, diversity, oppression, cultural change, and equity. The critical race theory-aligned concepts of “white privilege” and “white supremacy” are overarching themes of Fleur Larsen Facilitation’s teaching and training.
History and Work
Fleur Larsen Facilitation was founded in 2013 by Fleur Larsen after years as a facilitator for other organizations. 1 Fleur Larsen Facilitation provides training, workshops, coaching, and consulting on human resources practices, 2 with a focus on the critical race theory-aligned concepts of racial privilege, personal bias, equity, and cultural change. 3
Fleur Larsen Facilitation offers workshops for executive directors and board members of nonprofits, for funders and philanthropists, for staff and organizations at risk of burnout through a workshop on “martyrdom,” and for white women through a white women’s caucus. 4
Workshops for executive directors and board members review equity issues relating to staff and recipients through a “racial justice lens” and has segregated break-out groups for white people and for people of color. 4 For funders and philanthropists, Fleur Facilitation examines “positional privilege” and “what needs to shift to live in alignment with our values.” 4 Workshops on martyrdom asks participants and organizations to avoid burnout or low morale and incorporate an equity lens covering power and privilege and systems of oppression. 4 The white women’s caucus group is a weekly series “addressing martyrdom, racism, sexism and equity … the intersectionality of white privilege/supremacy, internalized sexism and patriarchy.” 4 One weekly session is titled: “White Privilege: Our Oppressor Material.” 4
Fleur Larsen Facilitation offers program discounts to organizations led by people of color 5 and has asked that white males not join her women-only “Power With Not Power Over: Accountability in Action for White Women” seminars because “the presence of prominent or oppressor identities can compromise the safety and intention of the learning.” 6 Cost of these seminars are on a sliding scale between $0 for people of color and $250. 6
